Dr. Jenna Ouye is a licensed psychologist and nationally certified school psychologist who provides assessment services to children, adolescents, and young adults at Summit Center. Dr. Ouye also provides targeted ADHD assessments for adults. She has specializations in learning disabilities, neurodiversity, autism, anxiety and depression, ADHD, 2e/giftedness, trauma, early childhood, assessment, culturally-sensitive practice, and family-school collaboration. Dr. Ouye views assessment as a therapeutic and collaborative process to support individuals in understanding how to reach their full potential. She has a passion in developing child-centered and developmentally-appropriate feedback sessions, including creating “brain maps and stories” with clients and their families.
Dr. Ouye has also worked in various school districts conducting special education evaluations for preschool to high school populations. She uses this expertise and experience to also provide Independent Educational Evaluations (IEEs) for clients at Summit Center. In addition to school districts, Dr. Ouye has worked within children’s hospital, community mental health clinic, and private practice settings.
Dr. Ouye received her BA in Psychology from UCLA and her PhD in Counseling, Clinical, and School Psychology from UC Santa Barbara. She completed predoctoral and postdoctoral fellowships at Children’s Hospital Los Angeles (CHLA) within their Early Childhood Mental Health program, where she later served as a licensed psychologist and supervisor. At CHLA, she was also part of the Leadership Education in Neurodevelopmental and Related Disabilities (LEND) program, where she was selected as the Autism Fellow and worked within the IEP Parent Coaching team. Dr. Ouye’s research has been published in several peer-reviewed journals including the Journal of Psychological Assessment, Contemporary School Psychology, Journal of School Violence, and Research and Practice in the Schools.
As a parent herself, it is Dr. Ouye’s mission to ensure that parents and caregivers feel understood and informed and that their children be happy and successful.
