Dr. Lisa Nakamura provides comprehensive assessments using neuropsychological, psychological, and educational measures to children, adolescents, and young adults at the Summit Center’s Walnut Creek office. She specializes in working with a range of issues including complex trauma, ADHD, OCD, learning challenges, twice exceptionality (2e), puzzling emotional issues, and Autism Spectrum Disorder.

Dr. Nakamura’s approach is collaborative, drawn from her training in therapeutic collaborative assessments by Dr. Stephen Finn. She believes that assessments can serve as a therapeutic intervention to help see the whole person. When people better understand their strengths and challenges, they can enlist their strengths to address their struggles and feel empowered in the process.

Dr. Nakamura is committed to providing in-depth assessments for an individual’s learning and emotional needs. She has a passion for integrating culturally sensitive work with families.
