Dr. Jeannie Lopez provides comprehensive neuropsychological and educational assessments to children, adolescents, and adults at Summit Center.  Dr. Lopez offers counseling and ongoing consultation to adults and parents who are coping with medical and learning challenges, those who are 2e/twice-exceptional, and those who have been diagnosed with Autism.

 

Dr. Lopez has experience identifying and assisting gifted and twice-exceptional individuals with the unique challenges they face in navigating their academic and social paths within society. Dr. Lopez works with individuals with Autism, ADHD, Dyslexia, Dyscalculia, Dysgraphia, auditory and visual processing issues, concussion/ traumatic brain injury, complex medical challenges, and also does parent/case consultation.  

 

Dr. Lopez believes in a multidisciplinary and strengths-based approach to addressing the difficulties individuals face throughout their lifespan. One of the goals is to promote social and emotional well-being. She has an eclectic style of counseling incorporating supportive and cognitive-behavioral strategies, narrative therapy, spirituality, and yoga/meditation. Dr. Lopez can identify resources and support for individuals with Autism, nutritional challenges, such as food allergies or sensitivities, Celiac Disease, mold toxicity, Lyme disease/ co-infections, and hypermobility-related challenges. 

 

During her training, Dr. Lopez worked with patients coping with neurological ailments in medical settings at St. Mary’s Hospital in San Francisco, University of California, San Francisco’s (UCSF) Behavioral Medicine Clinic, the Bronx Veterans Affairs Hospital, and the University of New Jersey (UMDNJ) Newark.  Dr. Lopez is a Celiac Disease Advocate through the Celiac Disease Foundation and a Functional Diagnostic Nutrition Practitioner (FDN-P).
