Maja Dunnewald
Maja Dunnewald provides psychotherapy and assessment services to children, adolescents, and adults at Summit Center’s Walnut Creek office. She is currently a fourth-year doctoral student at the Wright Institute with a particular interest in working with children, adolescents, and their families to help them better understand their unique experiences. She is keenly interested in the 2e population.
Previously, Maja trained at the Wright Institute Child and Adolescent Clinic, a community-based agency where she provided play therapy and support to families in crisis. There she received extensive training in relational play therapy, child development, and family systems. Maja then trained at the Benicia School District, where she provided evidence-based psychotherapy to children and adolescents. She administered psychoeducational and neurodevelopment assessments, helping students and families receive support through special education services.
Maja is also a musician and composer and is passionate about combining art and science in her practice. She aims to create a warm space where clients can be supported in their strengths and explore patterns that are no longer serving them.
