Dr. Nancy Knop E.T./P, offers educational therapy to Summit Center clients in Walnut Creek and in San Francisco. She has practiced as an Educational Therapist for ten years, joining Summit Center in 2010. Previously, Dr. Knop taught science for 23 years to grades 7-12 at Head Royce and served as Department Chair for five years. Dr. Knop works with clients to understand the nature of their issues, then designs individual programs to remediate problems and build confident, independent thinkers and performers. She uses Making Math Real® courses to remediate problems in math, and the Wilson and Neuhaus programs for reading and reading comprehension. In addition, Dr. Knop speaks on topics related to the brain and learning at conferences, school professional development sessions, and to parents and students across the country. She holds a degree in science education, a Ph.D. in the Dept. of Natural Resources at UC Berkeley, and a graduate-level Certificate in Educational Therapy from UC Berkeley Extension. Dr. Knop is a member of the Association of Educational Therapists, the International Dyslexia Association, and Sigma Xi, an organization that honors those who work in research.
