Ellena Chen is a Post Doctoral Fellow who specializes in collaborative strength-based work with children and their families. Over the past four years, Ellena has worked at Summit Center, providing psychological assessments, therapy, and consultation. Within her work, she strives to join with each child (and family) to help them find their voice and reach their full potential. She holds a Doctorate in Clinical Psychology from the Wright Institute and a BA in Sociology and Environmental Science from Denison University. Ellena’s previous professional experience includes providing individual and family counseling at Alameda Family Services, and working with students, parents, and staff at Encompass Elementary. In a past life, Ellena worked as a preschool teacher in San Francisco and served in the Peace Corps in Bolivia where she gained valuable educational and cultural experiences. Ellena’s professional interests include parenting, twice-exceptionality, and doing creative and expressive arts therapy with children through a narrative and systems-based lens.
